National Security Steps Up: Donating Furniture to Dr. Hilla Limann Senior High School for Student Safety and Security
In a significant move to enhance student safety and reduce exposure to potential radical influences, the National Security Council (NSC) has donated a comprehensive set of dining furniture to Dr. Hilla Limann Senior High School in Gwollu, Sissala West District.
The donation, comprising 100 tables and 200 long benches, is part of the NSC's broader mission to address the security risks faced by young people in the country. Mr. Hakeem Duweijua, Director of Projects at the NSC, highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating that inadequate school infrastructure, particularly in dining and boarding facilities, creates vulnerabilities that extremist groups can exploit.
"When students are forced to leave the school grounds for basic amenities like meals, they become susceptible to external influences. This donation aims to create a safe, supervised environment, allowing students to focus on their education," Mr. Duweijua explained.
The NSC's approach goes beyond traditional security measures. Mr. Duweijua emphasized that the council's mission is to create environments that protect, empower, and guide youth away from danger. This donation is a testament to that commitment.
The Headmaster of Hilla Limann Senior High School, Mr. Mohammed Bakor Zakaria, expressed gratitude, noting that the furniture will enable over 1,000 students to enjoy meals on campus in a safe and organized manner. He emphasized the long-term benefits of this investment in student safety and stability.
The Sissala West District Chief Executive, Mr. Abudu Fuseini Gbene, praised the NSC's recognition of the link between infrastructure and safety, stating that students deserve secure learning environments.
The Paramount Chief of the Gwollu Traditional Area, Kuoro Bajor Daniel Limann, echoed these sentiments, urging community members to support initiatives that protect citizens, especially the youth, who are the nation's future.
While the students appreciated the donation, they also appealed for a library at the school, indicating a broader need for educational resources.
This initiative marks a significant step in the NSC's efforts to create safer and more secure environments for young people, addressing the underlying issues that contribute to security risks.
